Nigel has spent most of his career in business transformation, helping executive teams translate their goals into an actionable strategy. He has considerable experience driving complex change in global organisations resulting from M&A, growth or consolidation. He has helped a number of large organizations execute income enhancement or business optimization goals and led program recovery initiatives as a consultant. Currently he is Global Head of Organisation and Business Transformation in Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty. In this role he is responsible for a EUR 500m OPEX led Change program, covering all business segments and utilizing traditional IT and digital enablers. He also recently led a EUR 100m restructuring program and is currently driving the IT re-platforming for a major US post acquisition integration. He has worked extensively in Financial Services in the last decade supporting transformation in Banking, Insurance and Investment Management with companies such as Fidelity Investments, National Australia Bank, HSBC, Rothschilds, RSA and Allianz. Previously he worked in Manufacturing, Engineering, Technology, Professional Services sectors as an executive manager and consultant. He has experience in Research and Development, Production and IT/Operations. During his early career he led projects on simultaneous engineering, robotics, special purpose design, high volume CNC manufacturing and Just-In-Time production design. He started his career with IBM in Hardware Research and development focused on DASD devices and moved through various Design Engineering roles into production management where he became and Operational Excellence expert. From here he moved into professional services advising companies such as Rolls Royce, British Aerospace and Medium sized companies on how to adopt Lean Six Sigma or cellular manufacturing techniques. Later as an advisor on concurrent and agile engineering he developed a benchmarking tool which later became the CBI National benchamarking tool PROBE. This helped drive productivity in the UK Manufacturing sector and has been adopted by over 2000 companies subsequently. Nigel has published in the field of Change Management focusing on themes such as “cracking the code for change” and is particularly interested addressing how cultural and behavior impact change outcomes. He holds two Masters degrees in Management Sciences and HR Strategy and Changes along with Management and Engineering accreditations. He has held executive and non-executive roles in the private, public and not for profit sectors.
